Services

General Dental

Our measured approach means all general dental work is part of a bigger picture. From your first appointment, we work alongside you to determine the best path to optimal dental health. Regular hygiene appointments, preventative measures, and responsive treatment to presenting problems in the early stages (e.g. fillings) are all part of our general dental offering. Our aim is to minimise the need for major dental work in the future.

ENDODONTICS

Endodontics, otherwise known as Root Canal Therapy, is a procedure to remove injured or dead nerve tissue from within the tooth. Endodontic treatment can save a tooth from needing extraction and has the longest lasting results when sealed with a crown to protect the tooth from cracking and decay. Modern advancements have made this procedure painless and very straightforward. Measured Dental Care uses the most current rotary and thermafil technology to ensure you get the best possible result.

Dental IMPLANTS

Dental implants offer a long-lasting replacement for missing teeth, restoring the full function of your teeth as well as improving your smile. Even more importantly, dental implants stabilise your dental arch, thereby preventing teeth from crowding into the empty space and causing serious long-term consequences. Dental implants insert directly into your jaw, creating a stable base to support artificial teeth, such as dental crowns, bridges or dentures. They are permanent and stay with you for life.

cosmetic dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry varies from reconstructive procedures, such as crowns, implants and bridges, to less invasive procedures such as veneers and whitening. At Measured Dental Care, we consider the aesthetic effect of any treatment we recommend. We will make all options available to you and will explain all procedures clearly to ensure that you feel comfortable with your smile when you leave our surgery.

Crown and bridges

The structure of your jaw and teeth has a significant impact on your health and well-being. Missing or worn teeth can lead to serious problems if not addressed early on. Dental crowns and bridgework restore your teeth to their optimal strength, position, and function. Crowns and bridges can also offer cosmetic benefits, improving the colour, look and position of teeth.

Emergency dental

We know that life doesn't always go according to plan. At Measured Dental Care, we routinely keep openings available for emergencies such as pain, swelling or a broken tooth. If there are other dental problems that require further care after the initial emergency, we are happy to advise you on those as well. We are here to help, not to judge.

VENEERS and whitening

A dental veneer is a custom covering made to fit over the front of the tooth to correct chips, cracks, stains, poorly shaped teeth or excessively large gaps. They can also be useful to strengthen teeth that are worn or chipped to prevent further damage. Veneers can be made from several materials, each with their own distinct advantages. The procedure is conservative and minimally invasive, often without the need for anaesthetic.

dental hygienist

At Measured Dental Care, we believe prevention is the best cure. Our hygienists are instrumental in keeping your teeth and gums in peak health. While your home routine is certainly important in maintaining dental health, toothbrushes can't remove stubborn plaque and tartar. Our hygienists are equipped with the best ultrasonic tools to remove build up from around your teeth and below the gum line. Frequent appointments with a hygienist minimise your risk of tooth decay, gum disease, and the need for major dental work.

fillings

We prefer the term 'restorations'. When a tooth develops a cavity from decay or a fracture, we restore it to its proper form, function and look. Restorations come in a range of materials and designs, from simple plastic moulds to 3D printed solid ceramic. We recommend the type of material for your particular restoration by considering the location of the tooth, how deep the cavity is, your budget, and how much pressure you routinely apply on the tooth. All materials are beautifully life-like and will blend into your existing tooth. Amalgam (silver filling) is no longer used.
